A classical music concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev was held at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.

As AZERTAC reports, on the initiative and organization of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, the performance of classical music by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine was conducted by People's Artist of Azerbaijan Professor Yalchyn Adigozelov.

The concert was attended by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostyslav Karandeev, the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovskyi, the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Tamila Tasheva, deputy ministers of energy, finance, internal affairs, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, rectors of universities, ambassadors of foreign countries, accredited in Ukraine, representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Azerbaijani state companies operating in Ukraine, leaders and activists of diaspora organizations, scientists, culture and art.

Speaking before the concert, Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev noted that Heydar Aliyev was known as a great friend of Ukraine, the founder of friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Throughout his eventful political career, Heydar Aliyev was always close to Ukraine. It is no coincidence that the concert takes place in this amazing hall, because it was Heydar Aliyev who helped raise funds for the restoration of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.

The ambassador emphasized that the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries based on Heydar Aliyev's legacy is being successfully continued today by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

"Undoubtedly, Heydar Aliyev's greatest wish was to restore the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. This dream of his came true in 2020 under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev," the ambassador added.

The concert featured the works of outstanding composers of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

The audience greeted the concert with warm applause.
